The firm (including its Indonesian associate Hadiputranto Hadinoto & Partners) won in four national categories, and also picked up the Europe – copyright award and the Global Firm of the Year trophy (right).

Rival Hogan Lovells picked up three national and regional awards, all in Europe, while Bird & Bird, Hoyng Monegier, King & Wood Mallesons and Tilleke & Gibbins took home two each.

Olivares & Cia won all three awards for Mexico.

The 10th Annual Awards Dinner was held at the Intercontinental Park Lane last night, with nearly 300 guests attending.

Awards were presented in more than 70 categories: see the full list of winners (subscription or free trial required).

To mark the 10th anniversary of the awards, two trophies were presented to the outstanding firms of the past decade in Europe and Asia.

The national, regional and global awards winners are chosen by Managing IP’s editorial team based on research and analysis of public information. Firms cannot nominate themselves to receive awards.

A number of special awards were also presented.

Dyson was recognised as the in-house team of the year. The company is known for its innovative technology and cutting-edge design and its IP team, led by Gill Smith, has been instrumental in its worldwide success.

An outstanding achievement award was presented to Fidelma Macken, former judge of the CJEU and the Irish Supreme Court, for her work in promoting understanding of European trade mark and copyright law.

Outstanding achievement

The other outstanding achievement winner was Kevin Mooney of Simmons & Simmons, who was recognised in particular for his tireless work as chair of the committee developing the UPC Rules of Procedure.

The dinner was also attended by several previous winners of the outstanding achievement award: Alison Brimelow, Joao Miranda de Sousa, Tove Graulund and Jeremy Phillips (all pictured left).

The North America awards, recognising firms and individuals in the United States and Canada, take place in Washington DC next Wednesday.
