Merve Altınay is an intellectual property lawyer with extensive experience in both IP enforcement and prosecution. She advises leading global and domestic companies across the pharmaceuticals, life sciences, technology, consumer goods and retail sectors, helping them protect, enforce and commercialize their intellectual property rights in Turkey and internationally.
Her practice includes handling complex intellectual property disputes involving patent and trademark infringement, invalidation actions and unfair competition claims. She regularly coordinates large-scale enforcement actions, negotiates coexistence agreements and develops strategies to secure and protect clients’ intellectual property rights. Having represented clients on both sides of contentious matters, she combines strong litigation skills with a practical and business-oriented approach.
Merve also has substantial experience in trademark prosecution and portfolio management, overseeing global trademark portfolios and developing tailored filing, opposition and prosecution strategies. In addition, she has strong regulatory expertise in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food supplements, advertising, product liability matters and employee inventions, including related compensation structures.
She is an active member of AIPPI, serving as a Young Member of the Turkish Group and as a member of the Enforcement Standing Committee at the international level.
