David specialises in patent matters in the fields of communication technology including wireless and fibre-optic communication, IT, applied physics and electronics. Specifically, David has extensive experience with drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to wireless communication systems standardized by the 3gpp-organisation, such as 4G (LTE) and 5G (NR) systems.
David advises clients on strategic patenting issues, and deals with matters relating to most aspects of patent prosecution and enforcement, including for example pre-patenting investigations, patent drafting and prosecution, and claim charting. David also has extensive experience from several years of working as an in-house consultant at a patent department of a large international company, were he has worked broadly with inventions covering different aspects of consumer electronic equipment, such as displays, user interfaces and antennas, and in particular he has worked with wireless communication standards, specifically 3gpp standards.
David has a Master degree in engineering physics from Lund Institute of Technology (Sweden) and a PhD degree within the field of optoelectronics and optical communications from the Technical University of Denmark. Before joining Valea David worked 11 years with development and research of optoelectronic transmitters for tele- and data communications, in industry and in academia, covering fields of optoelectronics, fibre optic communication, semiconductor devices (including processing of semiconductor devices), nano- and microtechnology, optical sensors, microsensors and electrical and optical measurement techniques.
