All the 2020 rankings of the leading firms for patent work are now available online

The national patent rankings were first revealed earlier this month in the summer edition of the Managing IP magazine. They follow our national trademark and general intellectual property rankings (published in the spring edition of the magazine). Visit ipstars.com to view all the available 2020 rankings.

Practice areas and jurisdictions

Managing IP’s research analysts evaluated and ranked firms for their patent filing/prosecution and contentious work. Our national patent rankings this year cover more than 50 jurisdictions. For the United States, we also have patent rankings for states such as California and New York and three special national rankings (ITC litigation, life sciences IP and PTAB litigation). We introduced two new patent ranking tables for Germany.

What to expect next

We still have more rankings and research content for the IP STARS 2020 edition to publish this year. In July, we will reveal the Corporate IP Stars 2020 (a special list for in-house practitioners) and the firm rankings for copyright work. Read about all our 2020 rankings and publication timeline here.

Please contact me if you have any feedback or questions about IP STARS.

Congratulations to all the firms ranked this year.

About IP STARS

IP STARS is the leading specialist guide to IP law firms and practitioners worldwide. Managing IP published its first legal directory in 1994 and rebranded it in 2013 as IP STARS. The research for the guide covers a variety of IP practice areas and more than 70 jurisdictions, making it the most comprehensive and widely respected rankings publication in the IP industry.

Our rankings are based on a weighted evaluation of information from different sources, including work data submitted by firms, independent research findings, and market feedback. The research is conducted rigorously and impartially. Participation in the research does not guarantee ranking. Visit ipstars.com to read about our publication and research methodology.
