The UK government has dropped measures to introduce site blocking in the Digital Economy Act, after they were dismissed as cumbersome and unworkable
Section 17 of the DEA, which was passed last year, provided powers to grant blocking injunctions requiring ISPs to prevent access to internet locations used to infringe copyright. Section 18 set out what measures the secretary of state must take...
