Rights holders score victory over ISPs at the CJEU
The Court of Justice of the EU has backed right holders’ efforts to force internet service providers to block their customers’ access to copyright infringing websites
The Court was ruling today in case referred to it by Austria’s Supreme Court, the Oberster Gerichtshof, which had asked it to interpret the EU Copyright Directive and consider whether an ISP can be considered an intermediary.
