McDermott adds partners in DC and Silicon Valley

Michael O’Shaughnessy has joined McDermott Will & Emery’s Washington, DC office and Kieran Kieckhefer has joined its Silicon Valley office, both as partners

O’Shaughnessy was previously at Finnegan and focuses his practice on patent litigation and appeals. The firm said the hire fitted its goal of strengthening its life sciences focus, given his experience handling matters in technologies including the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and chemical fields.

Kieckhefer adds trial experience to McDermott’s litigation practice. She was previously an attorney at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
