Hulu has become one of the most popular places for US audiences to watch TV and movies online. Eileen McDermott examines whether the model has a fighting chance

Founded in 2007 by NBC Universal, News Corporation and The Walt Disney Company, Hulu is a US online video platform that provides content from over 190 companies supported entirely by ads from more than 250 advertisers. Asked how the channel was conceived, Rick Cotton, executive vice president and general counsel of NBC Universal, says that "Hulu is a recognition by content companies of the extraordinary capabilities of broadband internet"....
