TLD Holdings makes 40th gTLD application

Registry services company Minds + Machines is to apply for and manage a gTLD for the German state of North Rhine Westphalia.

Minds + Machines is owned by Top Level Domain Holdings, the publicly quoted new gTLD specialist chaired by Peter Dengate Thrush,

The company said the application for .nrw is the 40th it has made so far, and the second for a German state after .bayern. Technical back-end work has been sub-contracted to local company Knipp Medien und Kommunikation.

TLD Holdings said it intends to make a further batch of applications before the deadline of April 12. Other geographical gTLDs it has applied for include .zulu and .kiwi.
