When will Icann open a second gTLD round?

Either Rod Beckstrom or his replacement as Icann chief executive will publish a document outlining the prerequisites for a second round of gTLD applications

Board members reaffirmed on Tuesday that Icann is committed to opening a second round but it cannot yet determine when it will be. As a result, the chief executive will address three mandatory reviews of the first round in one document.

“It’s not yet possible to set a definitive date for the next application period, but that will be determined after the current window closes,” said Icann board chair Steve Crocker.
