TMview, which enables users to search trade marks across offices in Europe, was relaunched yesterday.

The free service now covers 17 offices, including OHIM and WIPO, with Lithuania, Romania and Sweden the latest to be added. This means it includes more than 7 million trade marks.

New features added include a new advanced search facility, the ability to search several trade marks simultaneously and an alert system.

Among the European countries not yet covered are Austria, Germany, Finland, Ireland and Poland.

Germany is expected to join TMview in the next few months, followed by other European offices. Offices in China, Japan, Korea, Russia and the US are also discussing joining.
