Letter offers insight to Icann Board decisions

A letter by the chair of Icann has explained some Board decisions that led to the latest draft of the Applicant Guidebook

Icann chair Peter Dengate-Thrush, in a letter sent August 5 to the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) chair Heather Dryden, explained some of the rationale behind Board decisions for the fourth version of the draft Applicant Guidebook.

It includes explanations of why some suggestions have not been included in the Guidebook, particularly on regional language and people strings. This is an unusual step for Icann, which normally explains why items are included but...
