RIM acquires domain blackpad.com

Blackberry maker Research in Motion (RIM) has acquired blackpad.com fuelling speculation that it will produce a rival to the iPad
According to the report by Bloomberg, “the domain name assigned to RIM was created July 8 and expires Sept. 8, 2011, according to the Whois database of internet domain names. There was no record of a trademark application for “blackpad” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as of today.”
