Managing IP and Fox Rodney launch US survey

What do US IP lawyers earn? In which areas are firms hiring? What is a typical starting salary? What is the average cost of a patent trial?

These are some of the questions that will be answered in the first North American IP market survey, the results of which will be published in November.

The survey is being compiled by Managing IP in association with Fox Rodney Search.

All US and Canadian firms that practise IP law are invited to respond to the online survey anonymously. Those that complete the survey will be entitled to a free report of the results. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete.

The North American IP market survey will become a unique guide to practice in the world’s biggest IP market, and will be essential reading for US IP practitioners, clients and overseas associates.

It comes at a time when the market for IP services in North America is going through fundamental changes. These include the impact of the economic downturn, the effect of the America Invents Act (including the new procedures introduced) and the growth of litigation in areas such as smartphones. The survey will reveal how these developments will affect US IP practice, including the hiring, recruitment and compensation of IP practitioners.

The survey can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/usipmarket2012
