In Canada, Mexico and Chile lateral moves and mergers in the past year have led to changes in the rankings of the leading patent firms

In Canada, the big move last year came when Norton Rose – not traditionally an IP firm – gobbled up Ogilvy Renault, which is strong in both patent prosecution and litigation. The result is a first-time ranking for Norton Rose in the IP survey – a testament to the depth of IP experience Ogilvy has brought to the new firm.

Bereskin Parr also merged with boutique firm Cameron MacKendrick in Canada and gained Andrew McIntosh from Belmore Neidrauer....
