Icann has named two vice presidents – one in Europe and one in Latin America.

Nigel Hickson, who is a former British civil servant with experience in EU technology policy development, will lead the European office.

In July 2011 Icann appointed Thomas Spiller to the newly-created European vice president role but he quit the next month without even starting.

In Latin America, Rodrigo de la Parra will take charge. The Mexican has been working at Icann as regional liaison for Latin America and is a former Governmental Advisory Comittee member.
