Paul Harris has left Speechly Bircham to join the London office of Canadian firm Gowlings as an IP partner.
He joins Richard Heath, formerly anti-counterfeiting counsel at Unilever, who is a senior policy adviser in the firm's London office.
Harris, who was at Speechly Bircham for four years, was previously a partner at Eversheds and Hammonds.
His litigation experience includes work on medical and chemical technology as well as trade mark disputes. He has lectured on trade mark courses at Oxford and Bristol universities.
