New approach in multiple-respondent UDRP case

When a complaint revealed two registrants rather than one in a recent UDRP case, the panellist embarked on a unique solution

With between 15% and 25% of domain registrations in the top-five gTLDs using privacy and proxy shields, according to a recent Icann study, filing a complaint against respondents who use such a service is quite common.

RapidShare, which has won over 25 UDRP decisions since June, filed a complaint involving three domains - rapidsharefilesdownload.com, rapidsharemegaupload.com and rapidsharewarezmegaupload.com - all registered with registrar Spot Domain and using the same privacy shield.
