Senate blocks bid to end reverse payment deals

The Senate has blocked an amendment that would have given the Federal Trade Commission power to intervene in so-called reverse payment agreements

The House of Representatives approved legislation in June that would stop settlements between brand name and generic pharmaceutical companies as part of the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2010 (the war bill).
