The first nominations are in to succeed Kamil Idris as director general of WIPO

The selection of the next WIPO director-general should not be "solely geographical or political", a group of the IP Organization's staff urged member states in an anonymous letter sent last month.
The letter, seen by Managing IP, comes as member states prepare to nominate candidates to succeed Kamil Idris, who will step down a year early, in September. Each state can nominate one person, and they have until February 13 to do so. A new director general should be appointed by May 14....
