MIP Awards Dinner 2006

The first MIP Awards Dinner, held at Claridge's in London on March 29, recognized the firms of the year in more than 30 categories, as well as the in-house team of the year and the lifetime achievement

More than 130 lawyers from as far afield as Buenos Aires, Beijing, Melbourne and Seoul came to the inaugural MIP Awards 2006 Ceremony on March 29, to celebrate, network and congratulate the winners at London's prestigious Claridge's Hotel.

Guests at the black tie event were welcomed at a cocktail reception accompanied by a live blues and jazz band before heading into the main ballroom for a three-course dinner, followed by cigars and port, ahead of the highlight of the evening – the awards ceremony.

In all, 32 law firms and individuals were recognized at the dinner, including 26 national law firm winners, plus the winners of awards for pan-European practice, in-house team of the year and MIP's US firm of the year in Europe. Pictures of some of the awards winners are featured over the following pages.

MIP's special lifetime achievement award was collected by the winner, Sir Hugh Laddie, himself....
