Pursuant to the Royal Decree of December 19 2014, Articles XI.104 to XI.162 of Book XI of the Code of Economic Law dealing with plant variety rights will come into force on July 1 2015.
This fall, there will be a 93% increase in PCT deadlines due to the America Invents Act (AIA). Before the final changes of the AIA came into effect on March 16, 2013, there was an influx of patent applications, as the new law included a number of provisions that made it more difficult to obtain protection in the US.
