Maximilian has a doctoral degree in technical chemistry and biotechnology. His doctoral thesis at the Vienna University of Technology focused on analytical chemistry and its application in the life sciences and medical research.
After completing his dissertation, Maximilian was employed in the semiconductor industry. He joined Puchberger & Partner in 2017, is a European Patent Attorney since 2021 and an Austrian Patent Attorney since 2023. He drafts and prosecutes patent applications in the field of chemistry, life sciences, and biotechnology. Max is involved in patent litigation at the Austrian commercial court, as well as at the EPO. He regularly drafts expert opinions on patent validity and infringement to support multi-national patent infringement proceedings in the field of chemistry and pharmacy.
Max is also active in trademark appeal cases and contentious proceedings regarding Austrian, European and International trademarks. He regularly represents domestic and international clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings at the Austrian Patent Office and the EUIPO.
