Luis Soriano Albert joined VOSSIUS trademark and design department in 2025 after a long career of more than 25 years in IP. He was admitted to the Lawyer´s Bars in Alicante-Madrid in 1996, and in the Munich Bar in 2020 being a dual qualified Attorney-at-law. Before joining Vossius, Luis was a partner at some renowned Spanish and German IP firms in Spain (Alicante, Madrid), Luxembourg and Germany (Munich). His areas of practice include prosecution and litigation of Trademarks, Designs, Unfair Competition, Copyright, Geographical Indications, Competition Law, Advertisement Law, Domain Law and Contractual IP Law (including patents).
Luis' main activity is the prosecution and litigation of Soft IP portfolios worldwide with strong focus in the Spanish, LATAM and EU markets. He also represents major civil litigation cases of Spanish and international companies in Spain and Germany. His litigation practice also includes the handling of copyright and unfair competition disputes. For many years, he represents from international stock-exchange listed companies to SMEs and start-ups in major national and international cases in the areas of fashion, perfumery/cosmetics, telecommunication, high-technology, pharmacy, chemistry, paper, consumer goods, automotive, media & entertainment, biotech, among others.
Luis holds the title Master of Laws (LL.M.) in IP. After finishing his Law studies in Spain and the United States, Luis started his professional career in his hometown Alicante. The opening of the EUIPO in Alicante in 1996 influenced his specialization. He was one of the pioneers in the EU trademark and design systems and is involved in the practice and development of these rights from the very beginning. He publishes essays in legal journals and is co-author of various legal commentaries. He is a member of the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) and serves on the association‘s renowned Design Committee (where is one of the taskforce leaders) and in the EUIPO-ECTA Link Committee. He is also a member of the INTA, LES (as member of the Valuation Committee) and PTMG.
