Joop was awarded his degree in Chemistry, with a minor in Information Science, in 1983. Following graduation he worked at an IP firm where he did both patent and trademark work. Because the trademark practice developed considerably under his guidance, the decision to go fulltime with trademark protection was soon made. After first managing the trademark department of two IP firms, Joop then ran his own trademark agency for many years (Elzas Noordzij). Joop has been associated with Arnold & Siedsma since 2012 and is responsible for the trademark department at the Amsterdam office.
Joop believes that the level of service is just as important as the content of the cases themselves. The legal aspects of a case must of course be dealt with to perfection, but the client must also be aware that immediate attention is always given to every case, that the client is informed as fully as possible on all matters and is made aware of all possible options. Joop sees it as his responsibility to support and advise his clients. Joop considers communication with clients to be very important, so he can be reached at all times. Joop intends to be a trusted adviser for each client.
