DesignClass tool launched

OHIM has released a new tool, DesignClass, which includes a harmonised database of product indications

The tool is similar to TMClass, which is for trade marks. It contains about 13,000 concepts comprising Locarno Classification terms and other terms pre-approved by the 24 participating EU offices.

The terms are available in the 23 EU languages.

DesignClass is already available on the European Trade Mark and Design Network. It was developed under the Convergence Programme.

OHIM will develop it further and make it fully available during 2016. National offices are also expected to use it in their e-filing systems.
