Mexico approves accession to Madrid Protocol

The Madrid Protocol has received a big boost, with Mexico’s Senate approving the country’s accession this week and Colombia saying it will deposit its instrument in June
On Wednesday the Mexican Senate passed legislation that will allow it to deposit its instrument of accession with WIPO, which administers the international trade mark system. It is not yet known when that will happen.
But a few days earlier, Colombia reportedly confirmed that it will deposit its instrument with WIPO in June, following a ruling on March 28 by the Colombia Constitutional Court that the Protocol is enforceable in the country.
Colombia approved its legislation last year....
