Wayne W J Ma

Wayne received his master’s degree in chemical engineering from Tsinghua University in 2003. He has been engaged in intellectual property practice since 2004 and served as a patent examiner at the Patent Office of the CNIPA from 2007 to 2012. In 2012, Wayne joined China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd.

He specialises in patent drafting, prosecution, invalidation, and litigation in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields. Wayne has handled nearly 1,000 patent applications and dozens of invalidation and litigation cases, drawing on his extensive professional experience.

A patent invalidation case he handled was selected as one of the CNIPA’s 2019 Top 10 Patent Re-examination and Invalidation Cases. An invention patent drafted by him was recognised as a 2023 National Typical Invention Patent Drafting Case.
