After graduated from the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a PhD in Engineering Geology in 2005, Dr. Wei Pan started his career as a patent attorney in a famous IP law firm in 2005. Dr. Pan joined Unitalen in 2007 and became a partner in 2013. In addition to being qualified as a Chinese patent attorney and Chinese attorney at law, he also passed the US Patent Bar Exam in 2015 after one year study in Boston University.
In the past 18 years, Dr. Pan has accumulated very rich patent practice experiences in China, US, Europe, Japan, South Korea etc.. His expertise covers all areas of patent law including patent procurement, re-examination, invalidation, FTO, patent administrative litigation and patent infringement litigation. His practice focuses on the technical fields of automotive, aircraft, household appliance, and refrigeration, medical devices, measuring instruments, automation and other mechanical apparatus. He is very experienced in filing strategy and patent drafting and highly recognized by his clients, most of which are multi-national companies. With his solid technical and legal background, he has successfully handled significant number of complicated and difficult patent prosecution and litigation cases, secured his clients’ IP rights in China and abroad in the best way.
Dr. Pan has been actively engaged in patent theory and practice research and has published a number of articles in Chinese and English influential IP magazines. He is frequently invited to attend international conferences and seminars and give presentations regarding Chinese patent law and practice.
