Sonia Santos is a partner at the IP litigation boutique Grau & Angulo. It is 100% devoted to IP enforcement and its success derives from this specialisation.
Ms Santos has been with the firm since its foundation in 2003 and she is based at the Madrid office. She offers a full range of advice, principally to international clients, and is recognised for her strategic thinking and great flexibility. Her main areas of practice are trademarks, designs and copyright, as well as unfair competition and new technology, providing both litigation services and advice. Ms Santos is renowned for her cross-border work, including sectors such as fashion and accessories, household goods, automotives, luxury brands and telecoms.
Ms Santos obtained an LLM from the Queen Mary University London. She is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association. She speaks Spanish and English and regularly contributes to international publications on intellectual property. She has been a speaker at various conferences in the field of IP enforcement and anti-counterfeiting and represents a European association on behalf of the interests of brand owners at the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights. Consistently recognised by leading international legal directories, she has received the International Law Office Client Choice Award for trademarks and has been included in Managing Intellectual Property’s Top 250 Women in IP several times.
