Peter Hale has particular expertise in large patent portfolio management, contentious patent proceedings in the U.K. courts and at the European Patent Office, and IP due diligence exercises. He also advises clients on policing their patent rights and licensing negotiations. Peter’s technical specialisations are in communications and control systems. Having a naval engineering background, he also practices in the fields of mechanics and thermodynamics.
Peter has been responsible for patent filing programmes for both multinational companies and smaller clients for whom intellectual property is a key aspect of the company value. He builds collaborative relationships with clients worldwide and has delivered creative, informed patent strategies in challenging commercial environments. In addition, Peter often coordinates his appeal and opposition work at the European Patent Office with concurrent patent litigation in Europe and elsewhere.
Peter is also a Registered UK Trade Mark Attorney, practising in the filing, prosecution and defence of trade mark rights for local and international clients.
