Biography
Paul George Buta heads the firm's Intellectual Property practice and has more than 20 years of experience advising and representing some of the world's leading corporations on complex intellectual property matters and landmark disputes.
His practice spans virtually all areas of intellectual property law, including advisory and litigation work relating to patents, trademarks, designs and copyright. He regularly advises clients operating in highly regulated industries, including media and audiovisual services, pharmaceuticals, information technology, telecommunications, FMCG, banking and finance, automotive, retail, publishing, textiles and chemicals.
Paul is widely recognised for his commercially focused advice and innovative legal solutions. He has been involved in some of the most significant intellectual property disputes before the Romanian courts and is particularly noted for his strategic approach to litigation and negotiations.
Paul holds a PhD in Intellectual Property Law from Nicolae Titulescu University, Bucharest (2014), and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the University of London (2014). He is a member of the Board of the Scientific Association for Intellectual Property Law, an Academic Member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and a member of the Romanian Chamber of Industrial Property Counsellors.
