Patrick is a certified IP lawyer and works in all areas of trademark law (trademarks, business names, work titles, domains) both nationally and internationally. He has been involved in legal developments in trademark law, in particular through several proceedings before the ECJ (e.g. “Barbara Becker”, “Fack Ju Göhte”). His expertise also includes advising and representing clients in and out of court in matters of unfair competition law, copyright and patent law.
After studying at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, he worked for two years as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and obtained his doctorate under Prof. Schricker. He was admitted to the bar in 1997 and has since worked exclusively in the IP field, as a certified IP lawyer since 2007. After working in well-known law firms, Patrick was a partner in a large patent and law firm for 16 years and most recently in an IP boutique.
