Otto-Martin Willy Bertschinger studied microbiology at the University of Zurich and holds a postgraduate master’s degree in intellectual property from ETH Zurich. His professional career led him first to a patent and licensing department of an international corporation in 2004 and then to a staff department of an international financial services provider in Zurich and Singapore. Since 2008 he has been working in private practice law firms specialized on patent law. Most recently, he led the Swiss branch of a cross-border patent service provider as a managing partner. Otto-Martin Willy Bertschinger joined IPrime Rentsch Kaelin Ltd as Counsel in November 2017.
Throughout his long career, he has served clients in a variety of technical fields, including medical technology, consumer goods, manufacturing technology and information technology.
Otto-Martin Willy Bertschinger speaks German, English, French and Italian. He advises and represents clients as an authorized representative before the European Patent Office and as a Swiss Patent Attorney in all areas of intellectual property.
