Oswald’s practice includes primarily the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in OAPI. He has experience in patent and design law, including prosecution, opinions, licensing and counselling. His practice encompasses a wide array of technological areas, including mechanical devices, medical instruments and processes, lubricants, computer hardware and software, and business methods.
Oswald is from Cameroon and is fluent in both English and French. In addition to being a South African patent attorney, Oswald is also a qualified Cameroonian attorney and is currently completing the requisite examinations to qualify as a professional agent (Mandataire agréé) before OAPI. He , and can assist both South African and international companies in securing IP rights in French West Africa and strategically advise on the best options to ensure that their IP is protected.
Oswald worked in Von Seidels head office in Cape Town, South Africa for five years. He returned to Cameroon and established the Von Seidels OAPI office in January 2020.
