Matthew is a Director at Walker Morris, known for providing intellectual property and technology advice for his clients. Part of our Intellectual Property, Trade Marks & Designs Team, Matthew says, “Luckily for me, any business can have intellectual property, so we tend to speak to all manner of clients”. He enjoys this variety and works in particular with clients in the food, fashion and sports sectors.
Matthew describes his approach to client work as “entirely client focussed” and says, “I love advising clients and guiding them to a solution to a problem” and he always strives to take the burden off clients with his advice.
Translating an often complicated subject matter into something that is understandable for clients is one of Matthew’s strengths and he always keeps his client’s commercial needs front of mind – recognising the importance of a commercially positive outcome.

Matthew regularly delivers pro-bono support to businesses in the Leeds area, one example being through the operation of a legal clinic at the Business and IP centre in Leeds.
