Jörg Wahl graduated from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU) in 2006 with a Law Degree and was admitted to the German bar as an attorney at law in 2009. From 2007 until 2016, he worked - most recently as a partner - in patent litigation for one of the most renowned Munich IP law firms, heading teams of patent attorneys and attorneys at law in patent and utility model litigation.
Since joining VJP in 2016, Jörg Wahl heads the Patent Litigation Department of VJP, where he draws from his experience in national and often transnational patent infringement proceedings. He represents clients in patent infringement proceedings before the German courts in first and second instance. He also supports clients in legal appeal proceedings and in complaints against denial of leave-to-appeal proceedings before the German Federal Court of Justice.
Together with the patent attorneys of VJP, he is regularly engaged in defending or attacking patents before the Federal Patent Court and in nullity appeal proceedings before the Federal Court of Justice, as well as in opposition proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.
Depending on the complexity of the matter, he heads teams of attorneys at law and patent attorneys, tailored to the needs of his clients and the individual case. Jörg Wahl has comprehensive experience in the technical fields of telecommunications, medical devices, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, consumer goods, electronic engineering, software, civil engineering, and process engineering. He also possess comprehensive experience in enforcing and defending against license programs as well as in SEP/FRAND litigation.
