Eric-Michael Dokter graduated from Technical University of Munich with a Dipl.-Ing. Electrical Science with focus on ICT. After graduation in 1995, he took his training to become European and German Patent Attorney at Siemens AG and was responsible for various Information and Communication Technology (ICT) groups of Siemen's Corporate Technology. He joined VJP in 1999 and since then represented clients in prosecution and litigation inter alia in ICT (in particular standard essential patents), semiconductors, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, software, solar cells, and lighting. He counsels Fortune 500 companies as well as universities, mid-Size companies and start-ups. He also advises clients in the field of patent portfolio management, German employee inventor law and IP strategy. He was a member of the Examination Board for European Patent Attorneys for 15 years.
