Jonna Sahlin, a Partner, and Chairman of the Board at Boco IP, brings over two decades of expertise in the patent field, coupled with an M.Sc. in chemical technology. As a European Patent Attorney and an Authorized Patent Attorney in Finland, Jonna's expertise is further amplified by her successful completion of the CEIPI course on Patent Litigation in Europe. From the start of the new Unified Patent Court, she is a European Patent Attorney, European Patent Litigator entitled to represent parties before UPC.
Jonna’s specialization lies in prosecuting Finnish and European patents, particularly in the chemistry-related sectors encompassing pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, food industry, process technology, polymers, and biofuels. Her involvement in opposition and appeal cases in Finland, Sweden, and Europe as well as in patent litigation cases and utility model registration nullity actions in Finland, has further evolved her understanding of the legal landscape. Additionally, Jonna conducts freedom-to-operate analyses and offers expert opinions on patent interpretation.

Actively contributing to the patent field, Jonna represents Finland as a council member as well as a member of the Professional Conduct Committee of the epi, the professional body for European Patent Attorneys. Moreover, her dedication to the patent field in Finland is evident through her past chairmanship of the Association of Finnish Patent Attorneys from 2010 to 2013. Jonna was appointed as an External Expert member in the Market Court of Finland in 2020.
