James is a European and UK Patent Attorney based in our Oxford office. James handles the drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications across the chemical field, with particular expertise in technology at the interface of chemistry and biotechnology. His experience extends to pharmaceuticals, process chemistry, electrochemistry (including enzyme-based electrochemistry), chemical biology and protein chemistry.
He has particular expertise in advising clients on developing IP strategies for global patent portfolios. He is also experienced in advising on IP-related aspects of due diligence and freedom to operate.
James brings an in-depth technical understanding to all of his work. He enjoys helping his clients find creative and pragmatic solutions tailored to their commercial goals.
