Christopher is an experienced European and Chartered UK patent attorney with a research background in experimental condensed matter physics and magnetic resonance.
Christopher specialises in constructing commercially focussed IP strategies for companies with a specialism in helping start-up and scale-up businesses. He achieves this by getting to know each company he works with, understanding their commercial goals, standing IP and future plans and proposing tactics to maximise outputs for each desired outcome. Christopher is able to draw on his experience in IP litigation matters to assist in predicting potential hurdles and, when necessary, assisting with patent enforcement or defence against enforcement actions. All of this is achieved with a client-friendly, no-nonsense approach.
His experience from his time in a lab as a researcher and his broad range of clients as a patent attorney allow him to support companies across a wide variety of technical areas. Christopher regularly works with businesses in the fields of MedTech; HealthTech; CleanTech; electronic circuit component and circuit design; autonomous vehicles; advanced materials; and quantum physics. In particular, his experience in the challenging arena of protecting software and AI innovations allows Christopher to assist companies working on digital innovations and those that are working on the digitisation of more traditional fields.
