Alexandra Dellmeier is the founder and managing partner of LexDellmeier and a qualified German attorney and specialist lawyer for Intellectual Property Law. She has more than 24 years of experience advising clients on trademark, design, copyright, and licensing law, with a particular focus on strategic intellectual property counselling and the enforcement of IP rights for both national and international clients.
Alexandra has extensive international experience, including professional appointments in the United States and Israel, and is bilingual in German and English. Her expertise has been recognised through multiple industry awards, including German Trademark Lawyer of the Year in 2015, 2016, and 2018, as well as a Women in Law Award (Trademarks) in 2019. Recent Matter / Case Highlights
- PayPal v EUIPO - Hub Culture (VENMO), European General Court (Case No. T-132/16): Advised Hub Culture in a trademark proof of use dispute involving the three-letter mark "VEN" in the cryptocurrency sector. Successfully overturned an unfavourable position following two previously unsuccessful proceedings handled by another firm, enabling the client to retain ownership of the VEN trademark.
- OTTO v QVC, German Federal Patent Court (Case No. 27 W (pat) 3/16): Represented QVC, Inc. in proceedings concerning the registrability of the single-letter trademark "Q" for retail services and related classes. The court confirmed the distinctiveness of the mark and approved registration.
- International Counterfeiting Matter for Medical Device Company: Led global enforcement efforts against counterfeit medical devices originating from China, Taiwan, and South Korea. Coordinated worldwide investigations, customs seizures, takedown actions against three manufacturers, criminal proceedings, and civil recovery actions relating to counterfeiting products that posed significant health and safety risks.
