Alex is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in the High Tech and Electrical Group.
The majority of Alex’s practice is directly with large corporate clients in the fields of physics, electronics, and electrical engineering. His major clients include: manufacturers of scientific instruments such as mass spectrometers, commercial printers for industrial labelling, visible/IR/UV light detection devices and geophysical exploration equipment. Alex is a regular visitor to the European Patent Office for hearings and advises on a range of post grant contentious matters. Alex regularly visits clients and foreign attorneys in the US, China and Japan.
Alex has an MA Physics and a DPhil from the University of Oxford, with his doctoral thesis focussing on electromagnetic properties of High Temperature Superconducting tapes and wires for bulk current transport and magnetic field generation.
