Firm overview

We are your reliable partner in IP law. The protection of intellectual property is not a temporary trend, but rather a necessity for being successful in the market.

Protecting inventions, products or brands, developing IP strategies, enforcing IP rights, analysing risks, attacking third-party IP rights, fending off attacks based on competitors’ IP rights – our team supports clients worldwide in all IP situations with expertise and experience.

Wtihin the first year since the Unified Patent Court commenced its activities, we, a patent law firm with offices in Munich and Constance (on the border with Switzerland) having more than 15 IP practitioners and a strong team of paralegals, have been involved in more than 15 cases and thus, as of today, in about 5% of all existing UPC cases as main representatives or co-counsels. We are involved in infringement and invalidation proceedings on both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s side.

In accordance with our firm’s philosophy, we operate closely with our clients, have a holistic view of the cases and also regularly support our clients in international teams in order to maximise the benefits for our clients in the respective jurisdiction.

Testimonials

2026

"High responsiveness, always well prepared and to the point, high technical and legal expertise."

"Very competent and easy to reach. Stellar team with very proactive attitude. Work fantastically alongside lawyers."

The court ordering a complainant to rank its arguments in order of potential success and a win for Edwards Lifesciences were among the top developments in recent weeks
Developments included the first judgment from the Nordic Baltic division, an injunction covering the UK, and a new code of conduct
Developments of note included the court partially allowing a claim concerning confidentiality clubs and a decision involving technology used in football matches
The court announcing it will follow the EPO on inventive step, a case with a Chinese element, and three big settlements were among the top talking points this fortnight
A ruling concerning the UPC’s jurisdiction, questions over costs transparency, and a missed deadline by Amazon were among the top talking points this fortnight
In our latest UPC update, we examine an important decision concerning the withdrawal of opt-outs, a significant victory for Edwards, and the launch of a new Hamburg-based IP firm
