Devika Mehra

Devika has been practising law for nearly three decades and is a trademark and geographical indications (GI) specialist. She has been advising clients on registering GIs ever since the Indian GI statute came into force in 2003 and is the practice lead for GIs at the firm. Her experience is not restricted to India – she regularly advises on protection of rights in numerous jurisdictions worldwide and especially in the Indian Subcontinent.

A prosecution and strategy expert, she can assist on any kind of trademark and GI issue there is. In recognition of her contributions, she has received several awards - she is recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ for Intellectual Property by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2021-22); as one of The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals (Prosecution & Strategy - 2017-22) by WTR 1000 and an ‘IP Expert: Trademarks’ by Asia IP (2021).
