Counsel from IBM, Mars and Passion Pictures discuss the effects of the pandemic and offer advice to employers on how to help women progress in their careers

To celebrate Women’s History Month, reporter Charlotte Kilpatrick invited three UK-based in-house counsel to share their experiences of how COVID-19 has affected their careers.

Anita Shaw, patent attorney at IBM; Amira Mukhtar, counsel at Mars; and Kelly Jean Williams, head of legal affairs at animation company Passion Pictures, discussed topics such as how employers can support women who are juggling a full-time job as well as home schooling and other care-giving roles.

The podcast also touched on how best to encourage young women to study STEM subjects, as well as why diversity and inclusion is important in the legal profession.
