Join us for UPC, Unitary Patent and Brexit discussions in Munich and Paris

UPC

Managing IP's next events are our European Patent Forums, being held in Munich on September 6 and Paris on September 8

The agendas for both days have been updated and can be seen online (Munich and Paris).

Notably, each day will open with a session on the patent implications of Brexit. We are delighted that Margot Fröhlinger of the EPO will be speaking at this.

Having talked to her at the recent CIPA Anniversary Dinner, I know Fröhlinger has lots of interesting thoughts about what might happen to the UPC and Unitary Patent after the UK vote to leave the EU, including how the plans might be revised to ensure the system remains useful to patent owners and applicants. So this is a session not to be missed!

There will also be other panels looking at aspects of the UPC, including a US perspective, and sessions on litigation strategy in Europe more generally.

Other topics on the agenda include SEPs and FRAND, evidence and ADR, and there will be dedicated sessions on life sciences/pharma and IT/TMT.

This is the fourth year we have held the European Patent Reform Forum, and arguably there is more to discuss now than ever before.

I know previous attendees have valued the presentations and discussions at the events so I look forward to seeing many readers there this year.

The Munich Forum is at the Charles Hotel on September 6 and the Paris Forum at the Pullman Eiffel Tower on September 8.

Find out more on our events page or download the Munich or Paris brochures (PDF).

Registration is free for in-house IP and patent counsel, R&D professionals and academics and €1,095 for advisers, consultants and private practitioners.

We have many more events coming up later this year in Europe, the US and Asia so we hope to see you at one of them before long.
