Domain names with Chinese, Korean and Japanese characters became available on May 11 2011.
Governmental bodies, registered trade mark owners, registered companies or organisations have been given priority to register the domain names during a sunrise phase that runs until July 20.
The landrush phase will begin on August 2 and end on October 11 and is open for any legal entity with domain name contacts in one of the 73 countries of the DotAsia community.
The date for the Go-Live period has not yet been set.
Local presence is required for all of these Asian domain names.
