Each Forum is a one-day roundup of the latest key issues in China, Japan and Korea - presented by specialists from each country and aimed at European practitioners (both in-house and in private practice).

Topics on the agenda include: trade mark protection in China; IP enforcement in China; damages; effective protection in Japan; understanding Korea's legal framework; dealing with IP infringement; and IP commercialisation and monetisation.

The latter is particularly topical in the light of Microsoft's recent sale of 1,500 patents to Xiaomi.

The Forums will provide an opportunity to find out about, and discuss, a range of issues from the impact of the TPP in Japan to the implications of the recent SPC Judicial Interpretation on patent litigation in China.

Many practitioners in China in particular have commented on developments in patent litigation, driven by the specialised IP courts and the increasing engagement of IP owners (both domestic and foreign) in litigation, so I expect that will also be a popular topic for discussion.

We will also get an update on court reforms in Korea, including the new opposition system.

I know last year's IP in Asia Forums were well received and provided great opportunities for both learning and networking, so don't miss out!

Registration is free for in-house IP and patent counsel, academics and R&D professionals.
