Zeynep Çağla Üstün is a Managing Associate and she has been working for the firm since 2014. Her practice focuses on life sciences and intellectual property with special focus on patents, utility models and trademarks.
Zeynep represents clients before the Civil Courts for Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights related to all kind of IP related disputes especially on the matters related with patent, utility model, trademarks. Zeynep’s expertise cover both enforcement and precautionary injunction actions and revocation actions against the IP rights. Zeynep also advises and assists the clients in alternative dispute resolution matters, as well as in negotiations with counterparties and in drafting settlement and licensing agreements. She assists clients in IP prosecution matters as well as in the application and opposition procedures related to patents, utility models and trademarks before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
Zeynep represents clients in relation to multi-jurisdictional patent matters. She represented numerous multinational companies in complex matters which includes cases that has become the first precedent in Turkish Law. Zeynep assists clients by developing strategies, often combining patent and regulatory law. She also assists the clients in marketing authorization dossier inspections related with patent matters before the Turkish Ministry of Health.
Her life science practice covers assisting clients in administrative actions filed against administrative decisions regarding pharmaceuticals and representing clients before the Administrative Courts.
Zeynep is one of the vice-presidents of the Intellectual Property and Competition Board of Ankara Bar Association.
